Karna — Chapter 1
Before the war that shook the heavens — there was a child no kingdom would claim.
"Forgive me."
The river carried him east, into arms that could not know what they held.
The sun hung low over the Ganga that morning. As if Surya himself could not bear to look upon what his beloved was about to do.
"You will be greater than all of them. Greater than any throne could make you. But the world will never know... and that is my sin to carry."
She placed the basket into the current. The reeds parted. The water accepted what a mother could not keep.
Downstream, the charioteer Adhiratha was washing his horses when the basket caught against the stones. Inside — a boy wrapped in golden armor, glowing faintly in the dawn light.
"Radha! Come quickly — the river... the river has given us a son."
